Texas Heritage Society Day Trips
The Texas Heritage Society will not only publish Texas histories, but as part of what makes THS different, a number of Texas
history field trips will be planned throughout each year. On these field trips, members and guest will go directly to many places that
are famous and important in Texas history.
Dr. Hewitt has planned a day trip for the Texas Heritage Society for Saturday, May 9, 2009. We will be leaving from The
Woodlands at 9 a.m. from First Baptist Church of The Woodlands (corner of Grogans Mill and Sawdust) and will carpool first to Wallisville, then
to Anahuac and parts beyond. Dr. Hewitt has engaged local historians to speak to us at each stop we will make. We will take sack lunches and eat
at a park near Anahuac. This is very much a family event, so children and grandchildren are welcome.
